OnePlus is preparing a smartphone with fast charging at 150W: 100% battery in 12 minutes

Currently, the fastest OnePlus phone in terms of charging speed is the OnePlus 10 Pro capable of supporting up to 80W of charging power via the USB-C cable.

According to information released by Digital Chat Station, a well-known source of rumors about the products of Chinese smartphone brands, OnePlus will make a significant leap in terms of charging speeds, delivering a smartphone with a charging function at 150W, more than we already meet on Oppo phones , another brand under the control of the same conglomerate of companies, BBK Electronics Corporation.

With an unspecified name, the new phone would come with the Dimensity 8100 chipset, the equivalent of MediaTek for Snapdragon 888. The device comes with a 120Hz FullHD + OLED screen and high-performance cameras with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor.

As for the main advantage of the new series, the installed battery comes with a capacity of only 4500 mAh, possibly obtained after allocating a “safety” margin of the actual capacity possible with Li-Ion technology, in order to compensate for the accelerated degradation induced by accelerated charging. Alternatively, it is perfectly plausible that the battery divided into at least two cells will never reach the theoretical charging capacity supported by the build, OnePlus using only the portion that allows to reach the highest charging speeds.

What we can say for sure is that the new smartphone will not be called either OnePlus 10 or OnePlus 10 Ultra, the configuration details indicating a different screen size and chipset, than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 solution already rumored for the new OnePlus series. Completely new, the device is expected with a curved screen, in a glass and metal housing. Unfortunately, for complete details we will have to wait for more revelations from the manufacturing company.
