“NieR: Automata” has a real chance to turn into a full-fledged anime series. The latest news will delight fans of this video game.
The much-lauded RPG game, “NieR: Automata,” will be transformed into an anime series, Square Enix recently announced. A recently released trailer (which you can see at the end of this article) reveals some details about what the new anime will look like. However, we must admit that nothing can be seen from the trailer, except for a few details related to the graphics.
The good news is that in addition to this trailer, the developers of “NieR: Automata” have also posted on Twitter an image of the main character, 2B, and the accompanying robot, Pod.
What will the new anime “NieR: Automata” talk about?
It seems that the story will closely follow the plot of the original game, released in 2017, which, at that time, caught the audience quite well. “The action of the scenario takes place in the distant future in which human beings are preparing to travel to the moon, to escape the threat of robots and other inanimate life forms, which aliens use to exterminate humanity, it is shown in a official blog post.
2B belongs to a newly established android unit, called “Yorha”, which starts a fierce battle to reclaim Earth.
Admittedly, the first game didn’t bring the developers much money in their pockets, remarks director Yoko Taro, but the second part was a huge success that received “open stage” praise for both the stunning graphics and for absolutely unique script ideas.
In other words, this game seems perfect to be transposed into an anime series.
“NieR: Automata” will be produced by Square Enix and Aniplex, the studio behind Fullmetal Alchemist and Sword Art Online, but that’s all we know so far. Since Sony owns Aniplex, there is a great possibility that the new anime will also appear on Crunchyroll or Funimation.
