NATO approves the appointment of General Christopher G. Cavoli as the new Supreme Allied Commander in Europe

MADRID, May 3. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The North Atlantic Council has approved this Tuesday the appointment of General Christopher G. Cavoli, of the United States Army, for the post of Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.

General Cavoli currently serves as commander of the US Army in Europe and Africa, the NATO statement said.

Once the national confirmation process is complete, Cavoli will take over the role from General Tod D. Wolters, of the United States Air Force, in a ceremony scheduled for summer 2022 at the headquarters of the Allied Powers Europe in the city ​​of Mons, in western Belgium.
