More than 800 kilometers of traffic jams in France due to holiday commuting

French authorities have noted more than 800 kilometers of traffic jams due to summer travel mainly on routes to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.

Highway 7 along the Rhône valley has recorded journeys of up to five hours to travel from Lyon to Orange compared to the usual one and a half hours.

This weekend coincides with the movements of those ending their vacations in July and those starting their vacations in August, making it one of the busiest holiday traffic weekends.

In any case, traffic is better than last year, when the equivalent weekend saw more than 1,000 kilometers of traffic jams.
