Every quarter, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta reports on the latest sales and user numbers. Internet group Meta owns Facebook, Instagram and, more recently, Twitter competitor Threads, as well as WhatsApp and Messenger, as well as the VR glasses brand Meta Quest.
Even though Facebook isn’t as popular as it used to be, an impressive number emerges from Meta’s quarterly report: 3.88 billion active users should have Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Co. together. For comparison: A total of around 8 billion people live on earth.
And as befits investor reports, this quarter is also about growth. Here, too, the parent company Facebook can report positive things: Facebook currently has 2.064 billion active users – every day. In the last quarter, i.e. the period from January to March, there were still 2.037 billion users per day.
This is good news for the large corporation, because in the last quarter of 2021 Meta had to report a decline in user numbers.
According to TechCrunch, the recent growth could be due to Reels on Instagram and Facebook: you’re probably familiar with this feature that was quite obviously inspired by TikTok. Mark Zuckerberg speaks of the reels as a whole 2 billion views per day generate – an impressive number.
According to Zuckerberg, the new Twitter/X competitor Threads, which is not available in Europe due to the Instagram account requirement, is also doing well. Threads gained 100 million active users in five days, although not everyone will be posting content regularly. So things are going pretty well for Mark Zuckerberg again.
