Madrid in Game Summit returns

Madrid in Game Summit, the videogame week of Madrid in Game, celebrates its second edition from October 20 to 28 with a program full of activities focused on the video game industry and with the aim of generating a meeting place for the different players in the gaming sector.

This event was born with the intention of promoting the video game and its industry beyond entertainment and use it as a valuable tool for socio-cultural transformation for citizens. This new edition will feature renowned guests that will complete a week where a leading sector in constant growth will be highlighted.

A videogame development marathon, a Tetris tournament, the already consolidated Madrid in Game Tardeo or an exhibition with the main training centers of the city in the Campus del Videojuego are some of the activities of the Summit, Madrid’s Videogame Week. The events are as follows:

Third edition of Madrid in Game HackJams

HackJams returned to the Campus del videojuego with a new edition of the 48-hour video game development marathon of Madrid in Game. Professionals from the video game industry organized in teams lived together for two days and competed to create games based on the same theme: Tetris.

Developers and artists from the sector were brought together to design the future of the industry and gamification while promoting gamer talent. The winning game was Titrash, but all the creations made during the weekend can be played on the Itch.io platform.

Madrid in Game: HackJams is a proposal born with the aim of promoting creativity, collaborative work and innovation. This third edition was held from October 20 to 22 at the Development Center of the Campus del videojuego.

Red Bull Tetris Qualifier

The Esports Center of the Campus of the video game hosted on October 21 a qualifier of the championship. Red Bull Tetris. Participants competed to be the best Madrid in Game player and play the Tetris game of their life: there is only one place for the grand final of the event. The winner was Tbr1cks.

The Tardeo of Madrid in Game with Jaime Giné

‘El Tardeo de Madrid in Game’, event already consolidated as one of the meeting points of reference in the video game sector in the city, will count in its sixth edition with the CEO of Amber, Jaime Giné. In his talk, “Amber’s DNA: creativity and strategy”, he will discuss the keys to his firm and his extensive experience in the industry.

The special Tardeo of the Summit, to be held at the Experience Center of the Campus del videojuego on Wednesday, October 25 at 18:00, will feature its usual networking, which has brought together more than 750 guests from over 200 companies in the video game industry in all its editions.

Event ‘Cazacracks’ in the Development Center of the Campus del videojuego

Cazacracks, a command that seeks young people interested in training in the video game industry, puts the icing on the cake to its tour of more than 40 schools in the Community of Madrid and impact on more than 1,300 students with a free and open access event at the Campus del videojuego.

The October 27th and 28th at the Development Center will bring together universities and training centers. to advise parents and students about the wide academic offer related to the video game industry in Madrid. It will be the first exhibition focused on the educational offer of degrees and masters specialized in gaming. It will be attended by Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, U-Tad, CSEU La Salle, Universidad Europea de Madrid, UDIT, Universidad CEU San Pablo, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, VoxelSchool, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and ISDE.

Valorant Invitational Tournament

During the “Cazacracks” event, on Saturday October 28, the Madrid in Game Valorant Invitational tournament will be organized, an open competition for the whole community where players will be able to compete against some of the most popular influencers in Spanish Valorant such as Lauritachicle, Rachelgi, Theakalenia and Airyn. The streamer Danicongui, one of the main local representatives of Valorant, will broadcast the event on his Twitch channel.

The Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ángel Niño, has put in value the large number of activities around the video game sector that will be deployed in a short period of time and that, in addition, involve different actors of the ecosystem.

Entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, fans and associations can participate in a very complete calendar that positions Madrid at the epicenter of the industry. We are talking about concentrating in our city in just a few days the talent of renowned international profiles, multitudinous events around video games, meetings and meetings of high added value and recreational activities.
