London, Buenos Aires and now Miami, the last destination for Madrid in Game in 2023.
In 2023, a commercial/institutional agenda has also been carried out in markets of interest such as London and Buenos Aires in which a delegation formed by representatives of the Madrid City Council and Madrid in Game scheduled meetings of value and interest with companies, developers and prominent associations of the British and Argentinean gaming sector.
In reference to the visit to the Argentine city, official visits were made to the City Council of Buenos Aires and to relevant companies that have presence in Madrid and a great potential to continue growing, as the case of the Argentine unicorn and member of the Madrid Game Cluster, Globant. In addition, meetings were held with other incubation and acceleration projects such as BA Gaming in Buenos Aires with the aim of seeking synergies and creating an international network of incubators to implement best practices in all markets.
There were also meetings with Venture Capitals and investment funds specialized in the sector to invite them to the next Investor’s Day to be held by Madrid in Game and where they could learn in detail the startups that are part of the Start IN Up Program, the entrepreneurship program of Madrid in Game.
Another purpose of these visits has been the attraction of internationally renowned figures within the sector to the Campus of the video game. A notable example was the presence of Sir Ian Livingstone, co-founder of Games Workshop, who visited Madrid to participate in a breakfast with industry experts and tour the facilities of the Campus del videojuego. During his visit, he had the opportunity to meet the entrepreneurs of the Start IN UP Program at the Development Center.
In these meetings and encounters, the initiative was presented with the aim of building bridges, generating synergies and showing the attractiveness of the capital abroad as a point of reference within the video game and gamification industry. With this purpose, Madrid in Game will travel to Miami on November 29, a capital meeting on the East Coast of the United States to meet with more than thirty companies to show the potential of the city of Madrid as a hub of the industry.
Foreign promotion is a great opportunity to show everything we are doing and achieving from Madrid in Game. It is great news to see how this firm and innovative commitment to the video game industry causes admiration in other countries, with administrations willing to collaborate and replicate our model, and with entities and entrepreneurs interested in coming to Madrid to enjoy the initiatives we offer.
