Land Rover has introduced the new Defender 130 model: when you can buy it, how much does it cost?

We’ve been promised a new three-line version of the Land Rover Defender for over a year, and today is the day we’ll finally be able to see it.

Along with the other two Defender 90 and 110 models, the Defender 130 2023 can comfortably accommodate up to eight people.

With a length of 5.36 meters and a wheelbase of 3.02 meters, this model offers an additional 34 centimeters in length, which not only improves the passenger space, but also the load capacity.

There are 389 liters behind the third row and up to 2,291 liters when all the rear seats are folded down.

By comparison, the Defender 110 can carry up to 1,875 liters, and its optional 5 + 2 configuration leaves little room for third-row occupants.

Interestingly, the Defender 130 comes standard with a panoramic sunroof and a second glass panel above the third row, resulting in a bright and airy cabin. Also, with the electronic air suspension, you can adjust the running height of the vehicle in the loading area to make loading easier.

Defender 130 stands out even more with a unique color palette, which includes the new Sedona Red, as well as an Extended Bright package that puts more chrome and silver accents everywhere. The dashboard has a larger than 11.4-inch touchscreen with Pivi Pro infotainment and the new what3words navigation app.

Also included are four-zone climate control and advanced cabin air purification technology.

Technical specifications

By the way, there are four levels of equipment to choose from: SE, X-Dynamic SE, X and First Edition. The latter is available in three carefully crafted combinations by Land Rover designers and offers an extensive list of equipment, including second and third row heated seats, the Meridian sound system, driver assistance package and privacy glass.

Land Rover engines are available with MHEV system and include petrol engines (P300 / P400) and D250 / D300 diesel units.

P300 can reach 0-100 km / h in 8.0 seconds, and P400 with a maximum torque of 550 Nm reaches 0-100 km / h in 6.6 seconds

Ingenium diesel engines offer improved power delivery and the D250 with 250 hp and 600 Nm of torque is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.9 seconds, while the D300 can complete the half in 7.6 seconds.

Power resources regardless of the engine are managed by means of an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and the list of standard features also includes the air suspension capable of providing 71.5 mm of additional front lift and 73.5 mm rear as needed.

The new Land Rover Defender 130 can already be ordered in the UK and will soon enter the main European markets.

In Romania, the base price for Land Rover Defender 90 starts at 47,250 euros without taxes.
