Despite the great films already released this year, there are still some interesting upcoming titles. Here are the most anticipated movies of 2022 to come.

Almost in the middle of the year, there are some interesting movies that will be released in 2022, both in cinemas and on streaming. So far, 2022 has seen boxing The Batman and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, for example. This year, video game adaptations were released that made good numbers, namely Uncharted and Sonic The Hedgehog 2, as well as surprising original releases such as Everything Everywhere All At Once.

While the biggest Hollywood movies are still mostly reserved for cinemas only, some of the most anticipated movies of 2022 are streaming releases. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated a process that was already underway, and now great talents such as Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo and Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson are producing content for streaming platforms. At a time when good box office performance for movies outside of major franchises such as the Marvel Universe is not always guaranteed, interesting stories with high production value can also be found in streaming.

For the rest of 2022, audiences will have plenty of options to watch both in theaters and at home. This year it has two more releases in MCU cinemas, two DCEU movies, beloved stories, original action movies, animations and a film event that has been awaited for 13 years. Any entry into the Jurassic Park franchise is interesting, but there are a few reasons that make Jurassic World: Dominion even more special. The film will be the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy and, although the sequel can never be ruled out, Colin Trevorrow’s film is expected to end the stories of the characters introduced in Jurassic World. Not only that, but Jurassic World: Dominion will bring together the original Jurassic Park trio – Sam Neil, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum – for the first time at Jurassic Park.

The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and the first reviews ensure that it highlights the incredible images and performance of Austin Buttler as Elvis.

Minions: The Rise Of Gru – July 1, in theaters

It’s been seven years since the first and only Minions solo film, but its sequel, Minions: The Rise of Gru, is still captivating. The First Minions is one of the best examples of a successful spin-off, one that ranks as the highest grossing movie in the Despicable Me franchise. As for the summer 2022 releases for younger audiences, Minions: The Rise of Gru is a great option.
