MADRID, March 3. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Spanish MotoGP rider Joan Mir (Suzuki) celebrated this Thursday seeing “an improvement” in his bike to have “more top speed” and that there is “equality” on the grid for the start of the season, because it will be “very good for the show”, at the beginning of the year in which he highlighted “a lot of competition between factories and pilots”
“I have seen an improvement in the bike, it seems that we have more top speed and it is important. The winter has been good, I have been able to train and I have been able to rest, to recharge batteries for the first races. We will see what can be done, I am looking forward to start”, commented Mir at the press conference prior to the Qatar Grand Prix that opens the MotoGP season.
However, the Spanish driver, who stated that they will reach 370 kilometers per hour, assured that it will be difficult “to make a difference if everything is easier”. “Maybe it’s not the best thing. This equality will be very good for the show. In the tests it seems to be like a qualifying round. We see that there is a lot of competition between factories and drivers, it’s extraordinary. It makes our life a little more difficult but for that reason we are here. We are going to enjoy it more from inside and from outside,” he said.
Finally, Mir applauded the arrival of Livio Suppo as the new Suzuki Ecstar team manager. “It is a step that we have been waiting for a long time, before there were people from the team who did their job, now each person knows exactly what they have to do and Livio is going to contribute a lot to the team. He is going to help us, he is a very clear person And it’s what we needed,” he concluded.
