After the celebration of the first edition of the First Stand tournament, the competition returns to EMEA in a revamped LEC with nine teams that have trained for the spring split title.
Movistar KOI comes into this spring split having entered the 2025 season with a fourth place finish in the winter split. A result that may not taste like much but, together with Karmine Corp’s surprise win over G2 in the final, shows how open and evenly matched the competition is.
With an even more competitive format, two places for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) at stake and visits to the always dedicated audiences of Spain and France, this LEC 2025 Spring Split promises to be a guaranteed spectacle.
New format: no more best-of-one series
This spring, the temperature starts to rise and so does the competition in the LEC. There will be no better than one during the entire split. The champion will be decided after multiple series of several tension-filled games in which the teams will demonstrate their skills.
The regular season will last seven weeks and teams will play each other in best-of-three series in a round-robin bracket. These series will decide the teams that advance to the playoffs, but unlike the winter split, only six teams will qualify and can compete for the title of spring split champion.
After that, the playoffs will consist exclusively of best-of-five heats in a double-elimination format to give all teams a chance to prove they are the strongest team in EMEA. And, following the success of the Fearless Draft format, this will be back and will be used in all EMEA multi-game series in the spring and throughout the 2025 season.
The two finalists from the LEC Spring Playoffs will qualify for MSI in Vancouver, Canada, where they will represent EMEA against the best teams in the world.
