Dive deep into the heart of Munich as Assemble Entertainment and developer SenAm Games unveil an all-new story-based, investigative noir visual novel Hauma – A Detective Noir Story. Later this fall, Hauma’s story is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam and Itch.io. It unfolds in an exciting comic book-inspired visual style that only enhances the unique story elements. Hauma challenges players to master the art of deduction and uncover a gripping conspiracy perpetuated by the city’s upper crust. Hauma – A Detective Noir Story can be added to the wish list now and a free demo is playable on Steam.
Hauma – A Detective Noir Story, featured at the Indie Live Expo on May 20, 2023, joins indie companions from Assemble Entertainment including Windy Meadow – A Roadwarden Tale, Between Horizons, Mira and the Legends of the Djinns and Verne: The Shape of Fantasy. Hauma’s striking narrative delivery and female-led plot make it an excellent addition to this year’s showcase celebrating indie developers and their games from around the world.
In Hauma, players step into the tired, well-trodden soles of Judith, a former detective awakened from retirement by the suspicious goings-on of society’s upper class. As you track down and interrogate the city’s clique, you’ll explore real-world locations rendered in a distinctive graphic novel style, discover pieces of hidden history and use these clues to investigate the mystery within. Collect items, solve puzzles and overcome dialogue riddles as players make their own investigative inferences using the “mindboard,” a unique feature of the game that functions as an inventory containing items, thoughts and other clues needed to uncover the dark secret of the city’s underbelly.
