Google Wear OS will soon make it easier for you to access Spotify and Notes

Not only the Pixel Watch gets a Wear OS update with new tiles.

Google’s operating system for smartwatches Wear OS receives a small update. The focus is on revamped tiles, but one feature is only useful for US customers.

The Google I/O 2023 developer conference was a few weeks ago and focused primarily on new smartphone releases; Smartwatches, on the other hand, received nothing in terms of new models.

Wear OS update: New tiles for Spotify

As already announced at the I/O conference, Google is bringing three new tiles for the music streaming service Spotify, which should find their way onto smartwatches with the upcoming update.

One of these tiles is aimed at the podcast listeners among you, which can be used to display new episodes of the podcasts you subscribe to. From here, users should have faster access to the current episode.

In addition, a tile with a kind of quick access for created Spotify playlists is activated; In addition, a mix of the user’s most listened to titles can be accessed here. The also closes to this idea DJ called tile, which is intended to provide a personalized selection of music via Spotify.

The notes app Google Keep, on the other hand, also has quick access, which was already presented at the I/O conference. Individual notes or to-do lists can be easily reached without having to rummage through menus, as Google says.

The update for Wear OS concludes with a US-exclusive feature: the Google Wallet, which can also be used via smartwatches, receives specific cards for providers of ridesharing. These include SmartTrip and Clipper – the new feature is hardly relevant in this country.
