Deutsche Telekom becomes a validator on Polygon

The German giant expands its blockchain nodes at layer2 Polygon. Deutsche Telekom was already validator on Chainlink and Ethereum.

Europe’s leading telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom announced this Wednesday that it has taken over the Polygon blockchain infrastructure.

Joining the hundred or so validators of the popular Layer 2 solution dedicated to Ethereum, Deutsche Telekom will now be helping to secure the PoS network and its solutions Supernets.

The German firm is already a validator on several blockchains including Flow, Celo, Chainlink and Ethereum. Its T-Systems Multimedia Solutions digital innovation unit is also on Polkadot.

The Polygon ecosystem is very developer-friendly and resource-efficient. It is based on the highest security standards of the Ethereum ecosystem. The collaboration with Polygon is an important step for Deutsche Telekom MMS to fully exploit the potential of blockchain technology,” commented Dirk Röder, Head of Deutsche Telekom’s Blockchain Solutions Center.

According to Defillama, Polygon now has a TVL of $1 billion. Layer2 recently announced a partnership with Google Cloud.
