France adds for the first time in a pandemic more than half a million cases of coronavirus in a single day

France has confirmed this Tuesday for the first time since the pandemic began in March 2020 more than half a million cases of coronavirus in a single day, specifically, the health authorities have reported 501,635 new positives.

Until the historical maximum had been set on January 18, when some 464,000 infections were confirmed. With these new figures, France has already added more than 17.3 million cases, of which approximately 130,000 correspond to those who have not managed to overcome the disease, the last 364 this Tuesday.

The number of admissions has also registered new highs this Tuesday, with more than 30,000 patients hospitalized for the first time since the end of April 2021. In total there are 30,189 people hospitalized due to the coronavirus, of which 3,741 are in intensive care units .

In an attempt to contain the advance of the pandemic and encourage vaccination, the French Government has decreed new restrictions that affect those who resist the puncture, imposing the health passport to be able to access public spaces such as restaurants, cultural centers, events sports and some means of transport, such as high-distance trains.
