eSuperliga: The first official esports league affiliated with the Romanian Professional Football League gets off to a strong start.

The most important virtual soccer competition in the history of Romania, the eSuperliga eSuperligahas started this week. It is the first esports league officially affiliated to the Romanian SuperLiga.where the main soccer clubs will be demonstrating their skills in the EA FC game, with the participation of 16 players selected to represent them. With a prize of 130,000 euros at stake, the eSuperliga is supported by the Professional Football League and the participating clubs, marking a milestone in the convergence between traditional and e-sports in Romania.

All 16 teams competing in the 2024-2025 Romanian Superliga season will be present in the eSuperliga, represented by the 16 best EA FC players in the country. Each club will have an esports team composed of one main player and one reserve player, who will compete in 15 league rounds. The matches will take place in Superliga stadiums, offering fans the opportunity to enjoy soccer both on the pitch and in the virtual environment.

This is a first for Romanian sport: the Superliga, the Romanian soccer championship, has its own official online championship and we are convinced that it will generate the same excitement and passion in the virtual environment.

The eSuperliga competition will be divided into. three phases: a first phase to identify the best players through open tournaments, a regular season with 15 official rounds and a final event in which the top-ranked teams will have the opportunity to compete for the championship title.. With a total prize pool of 130 thousand euros, the eSuperliga represents a unique opportunity for EA FC players in Romania to start a professional career in esports, with the possibility of participating in international championships in the future.

During the 15 rounds of the esports championship, mini-tournaments will also be organized for the public, where fans attending the stadiums to support their favorites will be able to participate in unofficial competitions with prizes. To participate in the qualification phase, players must be at least 16 years old, own EA Sports FC 24 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, and have a Battlefy account.

With the development of the eSuperliga and the sustained growth of esports divisions, clubs will be better prepared for international esports championships.
