Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition is no longer available as of Sept. 30 – That’s Gaming

Developer Techland has announced via social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that it will remove listings for the Ultimate Edition and Upgrade to Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2 Stay Human on all platforms. As of Sept. 30, the Ultimate Edition will no longer be available for purchase digitally.

The studio has stated that players who already own the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human will remain essentially unaffected. It is also worth noting that the Ultimate Edition can still be picked up before the Sept. 30 deadline.

The studio recently revealed Dying Light: The Beast. The game was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live and will feature the protagonist of the first Dying Light, Kyle Crane. Techland stated that Dying Light: The Beast began as DLC for Dying Light 2, but will be released as a standalone title.

In a separate tweet, the developer explained that the expanded nature of the upcoming standalone title is part of the reason why the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 is being pulled from sale.

“As we developed Dying Light: The Beast, the original scope was exceeded. We are now delivering a full 18+ hour standalone adventure rather than just a DLC,” Techland wrote. “We will keep our promise to our long-time supporters and deliver Dying Light: The Beast to current Ultimate owners at no additional cost – but due to the increased scope, we will not sell it in the future.”
