Counter-Strike 2 limited test modes and features explained in new FAQ – That’s Gaming

Following the super-surprising announcement of Counter-Strike 2, Valve published an official FAQ for the limited test, which began recently. Although only available to selected players, the developer revealed that more would be added over time (with invitations appearing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s main menu).

The limited test only offers Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive on one map – Dust2 – but more modes, maps and features are coming in later releases. Workshop maps and community servers are not currently available and you cannot play with or against CS: GO players. All XP earned in the limited test will transfer to CS: GO.

While your inventory transfers from CS: GO to Counter-Strike 2, you cannot change items within the latter. Applying or scraping stickers and using Trade Up Contracts is only possible in CS: GO (which then transfers to the limited test).

Finally, if your account has VAC or game bans in CS: GO, you cannot play Counter-Strike 2 on VAC-protected servers. This means you will not be able to play the limited test.

Counter-Strike 2 will be released for PC in the summer. In the meantime, stay tuned for further details.
