MADRID, Feb. 8 (Royals Blue) –
The Thai rider Somkiat Chantra (Kalex) and the Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda) set the best times on Tuesday in the first day of the private tests of the Moto2 and Moto3 categories that are being held at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit.
In Moto2, Chantra was the fastest with a best time of 1:42.213, just 75 thousandths ahead of his teammate, the Japanese Ai Ogura, while the Italian Tony Arbolino (Kalex) was third at almost 200 thousandths. The best Spaniard was Marcos Ramírez (MV Augusta), eighth at almost 700 thousandths.
For his part, in Moto3, the Italian and current world runner-up, Dennis Foggia, was the fastest of the day with a time of 1:46.298, almost half a second better than his teammate at Leopard Racing, the Japanese Tatsuki Suzuki and than the Spanish Carlos Tatay (Kalex).
The day marked the return of the Murcian Ana Carrasco with KTM to the Moto3 World Championship. The historic Supersport 300 world champion in 2018 was twenty-second in the time table with a best time of 1:50.949.
