The RCMP reported Sunday that at least ten people have been killed and 15 injured in a multiple stabbing at several locations in the central Canadian province of Saskatchewan.
“At this point in the investigation, we have located ten lifeless bodies in 13 locations,” a police spokeswoman explained at a press conference. She added that “several additional victims” were injured, including 15 who had to be transported to hospitals.
According to the preliminary investigation, officers believe “that some of the victims were intentionally attacked, while others were randomly assaulted.”
Authorities are trying to locate two male suspects, Damien Sanderson, 31; and Myles Sanderson, 30. RCMP have issued a province-wide alert for two dangerous persons as they believe both suspects remain armed.
“As the suspects are at large, we have also asked that the alert be extended to Manitoba and Alberta,” the RCMP said in a news release.
Officers have advised citizens to take precautions. “If you are in the area, seek immediate shelter. Do not leave a safe place and be cautious about allowing others to enter your residence,” the police force has warned. It has also asked neighbors not to approach suspicious persons or pick up individuals on highways.
