At least 21 people have died and 13 are missing due to floods caused by heavy rains in Fars province in southern Iran, according to the latest assessment by authorities.
The small town of Estahban has been particularly hard hit by the extreme weather, according to a Red Crescent statement carried by the official Iranian news agency IRNA. Two people are still missing in this area.

In addition, Heavy rains in the locality have also caused the Rodbal dam to overflow, forcing the evacuation of the surrounding area.
The Red Crescent is on the spot with 150 humanitarian workers who have so far been able to rescue several families from the floods.
