At least 13 dead and 41 injured in fire at nightclub in Thailand

At least 13 people have been killed and 41 injured in a fire at a nightclub in the Thai city of Sattahip, in the south of the country, local authorities have reported.

At around 1:00 am (local time) on Friday, a fire has started at the Mountain B nightclub, resulting in the deaths of at least four women and nine men, ‘Bangkok Post’ has reported.

The 41 injured — of whom eight are in critical condition — have been taken to a nearby hospital, the local Fire Brigade has reported.

After several hours of work to extinguish the fire, the authorities have perimetered the premises, as they fear it could collapse, reported ‘Nation Multimedia’.

A video posted on networks shows dozens of people running through the front door of the building, some of them on fire, raising doubts about whether the nightclub had a proper emergency exit.
