At least 12 people have been killed in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a result of an attack perpetrated by an armed group around 3.00 a.m. this Friday, in the village of Masome, seven kilometers from the center of Komanda, in the northeast of the country.
The president of the Basili civil society, to which the village where the event took place belongs, explained that the bandits surprised the villagers to commit the crime while they were in their beds.
According to the testimony of one of the survivors, they were bandits and not the Ugandan rebel group Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), reports the news portal ‘Actualite’. He also detailed that the
group consisted of five members, of which two carried firearms and three had arrows.
The coordinator of the NGO Convention for the Respect of Human Rights (CRDH) confirmed this information and demanded the security service of Irimu, the president of the country, to get involved in the dismantling of this network.
