BARCELONA, May 26. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Spanish MotoGP riders Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales have renewed with the official Aprilia team until 2024, in an agreement that confirms both as protagonists of the Italian factory after the great performance, especially of Aleix, in the last championship and in the present, in which he fights for the title.
Aprilia Racing has confirmed that its two current factory riders will remain with the Noale team until at least the end of 2024, just before this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.
On the one hand, Aleix Espargaró is already a serious contender for the title in 2022 after adding a victory and three consecutive podiums before this Italian event. On the other hand, Viñales continues to adapt to the RS-GP and improve performance race by race.
“This confirmation was just what the doctor ordered. We have worked hard together and grown together. We were a hope, now we are reality. In 2021 we had already seen clear signs of our steps forward and now we can fight consistently with the best in the world. To continue doing it with Aprilia is a source of pride for me”, Aleix Espargaró assured in statements provided by the team.
For his part, Maverick Viñales said he was “very happy” to continue with Aprilia Racing. “Our horizons are expanding and we will be able to work continuously to achieve ambitious goals. I believe in this project and I am happy to be part of it. I have found a fantastic environment at Aprilia and this confirmation gives me the peace of mind to grow”, he was honest.
Happiness shared by the CEO of Aprilia Racing, Massimo Rivola. “Everything good that we are doing this season is the fruit of many components and, to a large extent, the synergy that our captain Aleix has skilfully built with the bike and with the team. Therefore, we set ourselves the goal of continuing in this line , both with Aleix and with Maverick, and today I am satisfied with these confirmations. We still need to grow a lot and now we have the peace of mind to do so”, he celebrated.
