Parliament supports simplification of procedures for using regional funds in the aftermath of the war in Ukraine

The European Parliament’s Regional Development Committee on Thursday approved simplifying procedures to enable EU cohesion and regional funds to be used to deal with the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

As Europe copes with the economic and energy impact of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, MEPs voted to cut red tape to include more flexibility in the use of cohesion funds.

With this step, regional development committee members are banking on acting as soon as possible and helping EU governments and regions deal with the impact of the war.
