Zelensky announces the rescue of 40,000 people through humanitarian corridors and denounces that Russia does not stop the attacks

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, reported early this Friday the rescue of 40,000 people through humanitarian corridors and denounced that Russia has not ceased the attacks in Mariupol and Volnovaja.

“One of the main tasks this Thursday was the organization of humanitarian corridors. Sumy, Trostyanets, Krasnopillia, Irpin, Bucha, Hostomel, Izium. During this day almost 40,000 of ours have already left. They were finally given security in Poltava, Kiev, Cherkassy, ​​Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Lviv. It was also possible to deliver humanitarian supplies: hundreds of tons of food and medicine,” Zelensky stressed in a speech to the nation.

Thus, Zelenski has emphasized that “taking into account the work of the humanitarian corridors in the previous two days, we have already evacuated some one hundred thousand people.”

Among the latest most reiterated demands by the president in the context of the conflict triggered by the Russian invasion is the ceasefire in Mariupol and Volnovaja.

“Mariupol and Volnovakha are still completely blocked. Despite the fact that we did everything necessary for the work of the humanitarian corridor, the Russian troops never stopped firing,” he warned, adding that Ukraine is doing “everything possible to help the city.” .

Likewise, the Ukrainian president has denounced that “the invaders launched an attack with tanks exactly where a humanitarian corridor was supposed to be. The corridor of life for the residents of Mariupol,” he asserted.

In his opinion, “they have a clear order to keep Mariupol hostage, to abuse her. They bomb constantly, they shoot constantly.”

Zelensky explained that they have destroyed the building of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region.

For this reason, he has reiterated to the population that if “they have the opportunity to speak with the residents of Mariupol, spread the truth. Remind them that Ukraine is wholeheartedly with them.”

On the other hand, Zelensky has rejected the accusations by the Russian government and has said: “if you want to know about Russia’s plans, look at what Russia accuses others of.”

“They hide from their own people that they are sending recruits to this war, if only to increase the invading forces. And we are to blame! We are all accused of attacking supposedly peaceful Russia,” he added.

Thus, Zelenski has settled his speech by warning that he is “the president of a proper country, of a proper people. And the father of two children. And no one is developing any type of chemical weapons or any other weapon of mass destruction in my territory. And the whole world knows it. And if Russia does something like that against us, it will receive the toughest sanctions.”
