Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 12 Lite for global markets, with the new phone coming soon to Romania. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is the cheaper version of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phone, promising a flagship experience at an affordable price.
Shipped in a 7.29mm thick case and weighing 173 grams, the Xiaomi 12 Lite features the mid-range Snapdragon 778G chipset (6nm manufacturing process), helped with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. The 6.55-inch AMOLED display supports FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The camera features 108MP resolution main sensor (Samsung HM2), 8MP ultra-wide mode and another 2MP mode serving the macro function.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite also features Dolby Atmos certified stereo speakers for immersive experiences.
Apart from the very similar exterior design, the Lite has few features in common with the SD 8 Gen 1-based version, the latter of which has more processing power and higher quality finishes.

The list of features is completed with a 16MP front-facing camera (compared to 20MP on the previous model), but of better quality. The new smartphone is expected to ship with MIUI 13 interface, overlaid on top of the Android 12 operating system
The Xiaomi 12 Lite is available in three trim levels: 6GB+128GB for $399, 8GB+128GB for $449 and 8GB+256GB at $499. Prices and availability in the UK will be announced at a later date.
