Vivo unveils its first tablet, Vivo Pad. Comes with removable keyboard and stylus

Vivo Pad is a surprisingly ambitious device for a first-generation product, the Chinese brand’s experience in the smartphone market being found in many of its features. For example, the Vivo Pad could be the first tablet whose camera mode seems to be cut directly from the back of a smartphone, the circular ornament framed with another rectangular element looking at least strange on the back perfectly flat and devoid of other elements distinctive design.

Vivo is one of those brands that has built its reputation as a smartphone maker, ignoring the not-so-profitable market for Android-based tablets.

With a logo and finish reminiscent of old Sony Vaio laptops, the Vivo Pad is at least a pleasant appearance, the tablet being thin and with a not very wide frame around the screen.

The product powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset from last year’s “harvest” should offer reasonable battery life with the 8040 mAh battery, the only truly “gourmet” component being the 11-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Otherwise, the hardware would be suitable for a smartphone with a battery twice as small.

Thus, the metal case with unibody design will have no problem cooling the processor already recognized for not limiting performance even in the most intensive Android games. Like a respectable mid-range smartphone, the tablet comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, expandable by adding a microSD card.

Reasonable for a tablet, the main configuration of the photo configuration is a 13MP main sensor, ultra-wide camera and 8MP front camera each.

For now, only for the Chinese market, Vivo Pad tablets come with OriginOS (Android 12 interpretation), priced at $ 360 in basic equipment, respectively $ 390-400 for the option with more internal storage. It remains to be seen whether the BBK manufacturer will bring this product to European stores as well.
