Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal are seen crying as they watch the hit animation “Paddington 2” in a teaser clip for “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”, recently released online.
The upcoming comedy film, written and directed by Tom Gormican (also responsible for “That Awkward Moment”) shows Nicholas Cage playing a fictional version of himself, including an alter-ego known as Nicky Cage, a creation imaginary reminiscent of his younger version of David Lynch’s “Wild at Heart” (1990).
The cast of “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” also includes Pedro Pascal, Sharon Horgan, Tiffany Haddish, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, Jacob Scipio, Neil Patrick Harris and Demi Moore.
“The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”, an atypical movie you might like
Lionsgate has released a new teaser clip for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent online, featuring Nicholas Cage and Pedro Pascal sipping glasses of wine as Cage asks his “super fan” which is “his third favorite movie of all time,” to which Pascal’s character responds, quite convincingly, “Paddington 2” to Cage’s great surprise.
“The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” is sure to appeal to all Nicholas Cage fans, as well as film lovers alike, with numerous references to Cage’s past films, such as “Face / Off ”And“ Wild at Heart ”, but also in the history of cinema in general.
The really interesting part is that at one point he even referred to the classic cult “Dr. Caligari’s Cabinet,” while Cage invokes the dumb German expressionist film of 1920, which has undoubtedly made history.
Admittedly, the mention of the animation “Paddington 2”, in the same sentence as “Dr. Caligari ”could be categorized as a blasphemy, but this very combination could make the new film even tastier.
