This past weekend, Nintendo released a surprise trailer for the upcoming The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which will be released in cinemas soon.
The 30-second clip features additional footage from a scene that was first shown in the trailer released by Nintendo last November. Basically, it comes to train your curiosity even more ably.
More importantly, it’s the audience’s first chance to hear Seth Rogen perform the voice of Donkey Kong.
Immediately after Mario dons the cat suit, first introduced in 2013’s Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong, played by Rogen starts laughing. “You got the cat box! I’m sorry,” the monkey can be heard saying to his foe.
The amused tone quickly changes, and the next line may shock you. “Now you die!” says Donkey Kong to Mario, in the 30-second clip you can see at the end of this article.
The entire cast of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in a 30-second mini-trailer
With the release of the mini-trailer, the Nintendo giant has given fans a chance to hear from the entire cast of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach.
All in all, we’re possibly talking about the most important video released to date regarding the release in question.
After the release of the second movie trailer, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned an important detail, namely that Nintendo first redesigned Donkey Kong when the monkey went 3D in 1994’s Donkey Kong Land.
The company has now opted for a slightly more comical design, reminiscent of the original Donkey Kong character.
In case you can’t wait to see Super Mario Bros. Movie, find out that it will hit theaters on April 7, 2023.
