VIDEO Doctor Strange 2 targeted by Honest Trailers: what interesting hypothesis could become reality

While there are future plans for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Honest Trailers raises some valid questions about the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s concept of the X-Men.

The recently released sequel has seen a slightly longer development cycle than many MCU sequels, as original co-writer/director Scott Derrickson left the project along with creative partner C. Robert Cargill due to creative differences with Marvel Studios. Sam Raimi was to take the helm and start from scratch on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with Loki screenwriter Michael Waldron.

Benedict Cumberbatch returned, as expected, as Doctor Strange, where he meets America Chavez, who travels through the multiverse and learns that she is being hunted by a corrupted version of Wanda Maximoff, who wants to take her powers to later head to another universe and reunite with her sons.

The MCU sequel was met with generally positive reviews from critics for Raimi’s stylish direction and Elizabeth Olsen’s shift in tone and performance, while criticism was directed at the overloaded plot and somewhat accelerated pace. Despite mixed reviews, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a hit in theaters, grossing over $951 million against its production budget of $200 million, becoming the highest grossing film of the year, only to be surpassed by Top Gun by a wide margin: Maverick.
