VIDEO Day Shift, likely the next movie to “break the buzz” in streaming: when you see Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg on Netflix

Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg play vampire hunters in the first official trailer for Day Shift, a new action comedy coming to Netflix this summer.

In addition to Foxx and Snoop Dogg leading the cast, the film also stars Dave Franco of How to Get Away with Murder fame, Karla Souza as one of the vampires, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Scott Adkins, Meagan Good, Tetiana Gaidar and Steve Howey in supporting roles.

Day Shift is directed from a screenplay written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten, responsible for Army of the Dead. As the film gears up for release this summer, a pretty neat trailer has been released online to show you a few details of the action to come.

The official trailer for Day Shift is officially released

With a month until the premiere, Netflix has released the first full trailer for Day Shift. The video showcases the idyllic San Fernando setting, as well as the characters.

Jamie Foxx is a pool cleaner turned vampire hunter who teams up with Big John, played by Snoop Dogg, to rid the town of the persistent vampire problem and secure his family’s financial future.

In addition to the three protagonists, played by Foxx, Franco and Snoop Dogg, the Day Shift trailer also introduces us to the main villain, a very old vampire pretending to be Audrey San Fernando, the most powerful real estate agent in the area.

Without speculating too much, one might have suspected that Day Shift might share in the success previously enjoyed by the action comedy Red Notice, the recent film seemingly following the earlier recipe.

If you have an active Netflix account, you’ll be able to watch this movie starting August 12, 2022.
