UNIVERSITY Esports warms up for 2024

UNIVERSITY Esports is ready to start 2024 with the best gaming, technology and education content. The leading esports project in the university environment has already opened registrations for UNIVERSITY Esports Tournamentits second split of the 2023/24 season.

All college gamers across the country will be able to have fun competing in their favorite video game and win fantastic prizes in UNIVERSITY Esports. Teams must be made up of students from the same university, with the aim of fostering a sense of belonging and representing their university alongside their peers.

The 2023/24 season of UNIVERSITY Esports is supported by WD_BLACK and WUOLAHin addition to Riot Gamesone of the world’s leading publishers.

The best competitive and educational experiences

By outperforming their rivals, the best players will have the opportunity to qualify for and compete in the UNIVERSITY Esports National Grand Final and enjoy a competitive experience with the same benefits as a professional esports player.

In addition, participating teams will also be able to compete for qualification to UNIVERSITY Esports Mastersthe most important esports competition between universities in Europe.

UNIVERSITY CAMP returns this season 2023/24 for to provide scholarships to 50 university students from all over Spain. For two days, the young people will be offered a training session on esports, with the aim of learning about the sector, generating group discussions and showing job opportunities to university students.

The students will be able to learn and discover all the possibilities offered by the esports and gaming industry, which encompasses a diversity of professional profiles unknown to most of society. Experts in communication and marketing, physiotherapists, nutritionists or psychologists are some of the positions in demand in a sector that is already registering some income in Spain from more than 2.1 billion euros (2022 data), according to a PwC report.

UNIVERSITY Esports will also visit four universities in Spain during the months of February and March. Through UNIVERSITY Tourwill bring the esports and videogames sector closer to university students, in addition to publicizing the project among young people so that they are encouraged to take part in it.
