Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed that his goal is the complete seizure of the Donbas region. The president said Monday at a military forum that the Russian army is fulfilling its tasks in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky called on Monday for “moving from words to new tough sanctions” against Russia, as it has ignored the demands of Western countries to withdraw its forces from the Zaporiyia nuclear power plant.
