MADRID, Jan. 28 (Royals Blue) –
Ukraine’s Defense Minister, Oleksiy Reznikov, reiterated this Friday that “there are no phenomena or actions of a military nature” on its border with Russia, in the framework of the tensions generated by the accumulation of Russian troops in the area.
In a control session in the Ukrainian Parliament, Reznikov has clarified that, until now, the authorities have no record of military actions “significantly different from those of last spring” and has clarified that “the only difference in the military plan” is the “situation in Belarus”.
“What is radically different is the intensity of the hybrid measures, mainly information, as well as the impact of these measures on the macroeconomic situation,” he added, according to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
In this sense, he has guaranteed that the Ukrainian Intelligence and the Armed Forces of the country are in “constant contact” with international partners “and handle all the information” of the situation on the border.
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, has affirmed during this day that, “as far as it depends on Russia”, there will be no war in Ukraine, although he has warned that Moscow “will not allow its interests to be trampled on”. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has warned that there is a “clear possibility” that Russia will invade Ukraine in February.
