MADRID, Feb. 28 (Royals Blue) –
The Ukrainian authorities have denounced on Monday dozens of deaths in a projectile attack by the Russian Army against the city of Kharkov, the second most populous in the country, as part of the invasion unleashed on February 24.
“Kharkov has just been massively attacked with artillery from Gradov. Dozens of dead and hundreds of wounded,” said Anton Geraschenko, advisor to the Ministry of the Interior, in a message on his account on the Facebook social network.
“This horror should be seen by the whole world. Death to the occupants,” he added. The governor of the Kharkov region, Oleh Sinegubov, assured on Sunday that the Ukrainian forces control “totally” the city, after reports of intense fighting in the area emerged.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military offensive against Ukraine in a televised speech on February 24, days after recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
