Latest news on the war between Russia and Ukraine
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have admitted Friday that they have shelled targets of Russian troops in the locality of Energodar, where the Zaporiyia nuclear power plant is located.
In its daily tally, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reported on Facebook “accurate” strikes on enemy artillery systems and warehouses in the localities of Kherson and Energodar.
The Zaporiyia power plant, the largest in Europe, has since Thursday been attended by experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) who are trying to rule out risks in the area in the face of escalating fighting.
According to Ukrainian forces, Russian troops, who have controlled the plant since early March, removed all their military equipment from the facility before the arrival of the foreign investigators.
