Towerborne Playtests scheduled for this year – That’s Gaming

The Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month was packed with big reveals and updates, and the first-party lineup in particular showcased games such as Fable, Avowed, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and Starfield, among many others. Of course, most of the attention-grabbing presentations were for the larger titles, but there were also a few relatively smaller games that grabbed attention, such as Towerborne, made by developer Stoic Studio, known for The Banner Saga.

Towerborne promises stunning aesthetics in a 2.5D side-scrolling game with co-op action, and those who want to experience the game and see how it develops will have the chance to do so in the coming months.

Playtests through the Insider Program are scheduled for later this year, with open enrollment now. According to Xbox, those who sign up will get access to sample versions and exclusive updates, in addition to the opportunity to help Stoic shape the experience through their feedback.

How many playtests the developer plans to hold and what their scope will be remains to be seen, but given the ongoing, live service-oriented approach Stoic Studio and Microsoft have planned for Towerborne, it is not surprising that they want to engage the community early on.
