A film that has conquered the top on Netflix.
You know those times when you sit and scroll through Netflix or some other streaming app and simply out of boredom turn on a movie at random. Most of the time you come across really bad movies that you wouldn’t normally watch, but sometimes, very rarely, you find a few “gems”.
One such film is The Secret of Happiness.
The Romanian production was released in 2018 and reveals a game of masks in which friendship crumbles and love loses its bearings. From the first second you’ll be captivated by the fascinating conversation of the 3 main characters, but also by the game that becomes more and more tense as each scene brings us closer to the moral collapse of the protagonists.
With Vlad Zamfirescu, Irina Velcescu and Theo Marton in top form, The Secret of Happiness raises many questions about principles and morality, love and loyalty. At the same time, the film directed by Vlad Zamfirescu himself makes you feel like you’re in an intimate theatre… or on the balcony with the three characters in the film.
The Secret of Happiness is full of suspense
On an evening among friends, Tom pushes his wife and pal into more than absurd situations, seeking to get them to reveal old and well-hidden secrets.
The way Tom, masterfully played by Vlad Zamfirescu, manages to carry his plan through to the end has led many filmgoers to claim that he is one of the most captivating characters to appear in Romanian films in the last three decades.
The film directing debut of the son of the great actor Florin Zamfirescu comes as no surprise to moviegoers. Vlad Zamfirescu, manager of the Bulandra Theatre, manages to create a truly memorable story in Romanian cinema.
So, if you didn’t get to see the film, it’s worth taking an evening out of your regular schedule, you won’t regret it.
The film is available on Netflix.
