The Punisher gets a new brutal comic book series -.

Seemingly thanks to his appearances in other forms of entertainment, The Punisher has once again become a hugely popular Marvel character. Whether this has to do with Jon Bernthal’s take on Frank Castle or his appearance in Marvel Rivals and the like, whatever the situation, The Punisher may be more popular than he has ever been.

This had led to Marvel getting their act together and eventually bringing The Punisher back to the forefront of its comic book series. This will be known as Punisher: Red Band and is considered a “ongoing” series in which Frank Castle dispenses justice with his own characteristic lack of mercy as he struggles to piece together his shattered memory.

The synopsis for the comic event explains: “As fearless and uncompromising as ever, Frank Castle’s memory is damaged and he’s on the lookout for answers and criminals! He gets more than he bargained for from both when the infamous and bloodthirsty Jigsaw returns with The Punisher dead in his sights!”

Punisher: Red Band is written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Jose Luis Soares and a cover by David Marquez. The first issue will go on sale starting Feb. 25, and speaking of the final goals of the series, Percy has shared the following teaser.

“Punisher: Red Band was a new beginning for Frank Castle – and a relentless attack. The book was put in a polybag because it was a biological hazard, dripping with blood. Now that you know we’re not fooling around, we’re entering a new phase of storytelling that will serve both as a continuation of Red Band and a fresh start for new readers.”

With Jigsaw being Castle’s biggest problem in this comic run, Percy addresses the casting by claiming : “This is going to hurt.”
