The Honor Magic4 flagship series will debut at MWC 2022

Honor’s return to the market in Europe was marked last year with mid-range models from the high-end Honor 50. These were the first devices in recent years to ship with Google services at the factory and also marked the switch to Qualcomm processors. . Unfortunately, we did not receive the Honor Magic3 models, which were announced and launched in China. However, it seems that in 2022 we will receive Honor flagships again, the company confirming that the Magic4 series will be present at the Mobile World Congress 2022.

Honor has announced the launch event for the Magic4 series

The presentation of the Honor Magic4 5G series will take place on February 28, at 14:00 in Romania. The company has officially confirmed this presentation event, which we will most likely be able to watch online. It is interesting that in the last few months we have not received information about a new high-end series from Honor, something that has not been happening for many years in the field of smartphones.

Usually, before an announcement, we have almost all the information about smartphones not yet released. This time, I assumed that an Honor event at MWC would mark the launch of the Magic3 series in Europe, but it seems that the Chinese manufacturer has decided to completely cancel the plans for the old generation.

In fact, Honor Magic3 models were based on Qualcomm’s old platform, Snapdragon 888. The launch of obsolete hardware models in 2022 would not have had the same impact as a flagship with the current generation of hardware, and the work to adapt the old design to other components would probably have been too expensive. Thus, we receive a completely new series.

The only rumors about Honor Magic4 today are that it will use two 50 megapixel photo sensors: one for the main camera and one for the ultrawide camera. In the promotional image of the event and in the short clip we can see a photo lens framed in a large circle, suggesting that the new series will focus on photo / video capture functions.
