The classic Interview with a Vampire, reinvented for a new generation: a good or bad idea?

“Interview with a Vampire”, the 1994 classic film that made history in cinemas, will be reinvented in 2022 – with other actors and, slightly, another action.

A few days ago, I was writing about the mini-teaser released on Instagram and I was also giving some essential details about the distribution, but also about what will be different in the new reboot of “Interview with a Vampire”.

“Interview with a Vampire”, version 2022 – good idea or not really?

In short, the actors will be different. Instead of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, we can see the much younger Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson. The problem with this production has nothing to do with the change of image of the actors or their race, but rather with the fact that the production itself should be so good that it can surpass the original, and that’s it. very difficult, if not impossible.

Obviously, before you rebuild a classic cult, you have to be 200% sure that what you do will be much better than the original. In short, you can’t afford to match the greatness of a production, but you have to go beyond it to be truly noticed.

It remains to be seen whether the new film (serial, in case I forgot to mention) will manage to capture what is needed and, especially, if it manages to pay a real tribute to the beloved author Anne Rice, without whom the world of horror with vampires would not have been the same, the writer being a kind of contemporary Bram Stoker.
