The Base eLeague of Base Somos Deporte is born

With the motto of “We are sport, and from now on also esports”. has seen the light of day eLeague Basethe first esports competition of Base Somos Deporte. The franchise, known for its reach in the Spanish territory with more than 300 stores specialized in sports equipment, has decided to make its first approach to the world of video games. Together with Galagaa Canary Islands company focused on the sector, is organizing an initiative that will start with FIFA 23 and will distribute a total of 5000 euros in prizes.

Specifically, the eLeague Base consists of FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) weekly tournaments. which take place every Saturday. These competitions, which are focused on PlayStation consoles (both 4 and 5), are independent, and by simply registering on the competition platform interested players will be able to sign up for the tournaments of the week of their choice, regardless of whether they have previously participated or not. In addition, each month there will be a monthly final with the best competitors of the previous weeks. In this sense, it is worth mentioning that each of the tournaments, both weekly and monthly, will have increasing prizes for the best players.

On the other hand, there are planned up to three on-site stops at various industry events. In short, it will last for six months and there will be a grand final also face-to-face with the winners of each month and of the events. The organization also plans to develop showmatches specials with personalities from the Spanish FIFA community, collaborations with content creators, sweepstakes and more surprises.

Another factor of interest is that, as the competition progresses, the Base eLeague will evolve with the appearance of the new installment of Electronic Arts’ simulator, the upcoming EA Sports FC. With the intention of adapting to the closest reality of the players, it will experience first-hand the appearance of the historic game, which will break with a soccer tradition of 30 years rooted in the franchise. Thus, its appearance means not only the establishment of a competition between different seasons, but between different game cycles and will therefore be one of the first available for the next franchise.
