From the south of Colombia, a dream that seemed impossible today becomes history.
The talent and passion of Team Sarusagi broke frontiers when they were crowned champions of the World Cosplay Summit Colombia (WCS Colombia), achieving that, for the first time, the department of Nariño will represent Colombia in the Cosplay World Cup, to be held in Nagoya, Japan in August 2026.
With a presentation full of art, technique and emotion, Andrés Palacios (SaruCosplay) and Ana Lucía Cuasquer (AnaLu Cosplay) conquered the jury and the public, demonstrating that cosplay in Nariño is at the level of the best in the world. Their victory not only marks a before and after for the region, but also ignites a spark of inspiration for all dreamers who believe in the power of local talent.
This achievement was possible thanks to the support and management of Asian Weekendan event and cultural platform that has worked for years for the growth of the geek and gamer movement in Nariño. Under the coordination of Héctor Guevara, Camila Álvarez , César Henao and Cristhian ZamoraAsian Weekend has promoted local talents, connecting the region with national and international scenarios.
This triumph not only positions Nariño within the national cosplay map, but also reaffirms the growth and artistic potential of the region, opening the doors to new opportunities of international representation for the talents of the south.
Now, the Team Sarusagi starts its preparation for Nagoya, Japanwhere he will proudly represent the flag of Colombia in the World Cosplay Summitthe most important cosplay event on the planet.
