Spotify has long been the king of music streaming, but like every other streaming service seems to have done over the past year, it has now decided it is time to raise those prices.
Each tier of Premium is increasing in price by $1 or £1 per month, which doesn’t sound like much, but will be noticeable to some. Premium Individual now costs $10.99, Premium Duo is $14.99, Family sits at $16.99 and a Premium Student account will cost you $5.99.
“The market landscape has continued to evolve since our launch. To continue to innovate, we are changing our Premium pricing in a number of markets around the world. These updates will help us continue to deliver value to fans and artists on our platform.” reads the message on Spotify’s website.
We’re not sure how well this is going to go, but since Spotify is getting a lot of criticism for not paying artists properly for streams, let’s hope this is about to change.
