Saigon Dragon Studios today announced Space Tales, a retro-futuristic satirical real-time strategy game coming to Steam in early 2026. The game will continue to grow and evolve during Early Access, with regular content updates, quality of life improvements and community-driven development shaping the journey. Players can already get a taste of the adventure with a free playable demo available now on Steam.
Studio leaders Victor and Matt, RTS fans all their lives, have assembled a passionate team of artists and developers with deep roots in the genre. With experience in acclaimed titles such as They Are Billions, Ablight and Liquidation, they now combine their expertise in their first original game, Space Tales.
Combining classic RTS roots with fresh ideas, Space Tales puts players in charge of humanity’s expansion across hostile alien worlds. Build modular bases, manage scarce resources and lead tactical battles against unpredictable enemies. The game goes beyond traditional strategy by introducing colossal alien bosses that you can capture and turn into powerful allies.

In Space Tales, players step into the shoes of Xander, an upstart commander of the Intergalactic Planetary Expansion (I.P.E.), humanity’s ambitious empire in the making. Players are sent to the outer edges of the galaxy and must tame unknown planets, build modular bases using advanced HUB technology, manage limited resources and protect their colonists from hostile alien factions.
With its unique blend of RTS, survival and science fiction satire, Space Tales features hand-crafted missions, responsive alien AI and challenging environments. At its core, it’s all about turning bold strategies into triumphs, one HUB at a time.
Space Tales also takes the RTS formula to the next level. Players take on giant alien bosses with unique abilities that can threaten even the strongest colonies. These cinematic encounters are more than just battles; they are crucial turning points that test everything you’ve built. And the best part? You can capture these giants and turn them into powerful allies. Once overpowered, these alien titans become part of your army, changing the balance of power and opening up new strategic opportunities.
