Securitize acquires crypto startup Onramp Invest

The tokenization expert Securitize has just acquiredOnramp Investa seedling which offers a crypto-asset management platform dedicated to financial advisors.

The blockchain enterprise Securitizewhich works with TradFi giants such as Hamilton Lane and KKR on tokenization projects, announced this Thursday the acquisition ofOnramp Invest for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2020 in San Diego, Onramp Invest offers a platform for investment advisors which connects traditional and crypto financial infrastructures.

Our acquisition of Onramp is another major step forward in broadening investor access to top-performing alternative assets and democratizing private capital markets. Onramp already offered investment advisors easy access to digital assets, so it’s a very natural extension to offer them tokenized alternative assets. to complement their portfolios,” commented Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo in a statement.

Advisors using Onramp will thus now be able to offer their clients access to alternative investment classes such as Private Equity, Private Credit and Secondaries.

On TheInformationthe startup’s CTO declared that the transaction was ” attractive “insofar as Onramp had already forged an earlier partnership with Securitize. Ashton Chaffee also spoke of the difficulty blockchain companies face today in raising funds. Last year, in the wake of falling crypto-currency prices, VCs gradually distanced themselves from the industry.

Onramp, which raised $7 million in Series A funding in June 2022, employed around twenty people, all of whom are expected to join the Securitize team.

Last month, American Securitize announced that it had a foothold in Europe. Its technology is now used by Spain’s Mancipi.
