Russian authorities on Monday rejected the U.S. government’s decision to deny a visa to a senior Russian official to attend a United Nations meeting.
Dimitri Polianski, the Kremlin’s spokesman for cybersecurity affairs, thus indicated that Moscow has “strongly” condemned Washington’s decision, which prevents Andrei Krutskij, the top cybersecurity official, from attending the UN meeting.
“We have conveyed to the U.S. authorities our strong protest at this decision,” the senior official asserted, according to reports carried by several Russian media outlets.
In this regard, he has asked UN Secretary General António Guterres to take concrete measures to “resolve this unacceptable situation.” “We expect the organization’s leaders to address this issue,” he added.
