The Russian Defense Ministry announced this Sunday that more than 100 Ukrainian military personnel and “foreign mercenaries” have been killed in an attack on a training center for Ukrainian special operations forces in the Yitomir region in the north of the country.

“High-precision air-launched missiles have hit a training center for special operations forces of the Ukrainian armed forces, where foreign mercenaries were located near Ovruch,” military spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

The town of Ovruch is located less than ten kilometers from the border with Belarus and about 150 kilometers from kyiv.

“More than 100 military special operations forces and foreign mercenaries have died,” the spokesman said in statements collected by the TASS agency.

Also, the spokesman announced that 62 Ukrainian military installations have been hit in the last few hours. These include three command posts, a multiple rocket launch system facility, two rocket and artillery weapons depots and a fuel depot, as well as 52 military equipment stores.

Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces have destroyed 207 drones, 1,467 tanks and 148 multiple rocket launchers, as well as 573 field artillery pieces and mortars, and 1,262 units of special military vehicles, according to the spokesman.
