Romanian movies on Netflix, the complete list: Teambuilding and Mirciulică are just the beginning

If you’ve ever been a fan of modern Romanian films but had nowhere to find them, it’s worth knowing that over 100 local feature films are available on Netflix, and Teambuilding and Mirciulică are just two examples.

At the moment, nowhere else can you find more Romanian films than on Netflix. A few years ago, there were 4-5 films, but now, the list has expanded to 117 and counting. Almost any film from the Middle East that has made it or will make it to the cinema will surely find a place on Netflix. Predictably, they’re not all for everyone, but many of them have enjoyed a stubby string of accolades at international festivals.

Although many Romanians know about Teambuilding and Mirciulică, there are other Romanian films that deserve all the attention, regardless of whether or not they are on the top of the viewing charts. Until the list is complete, some recommendations to start with are: Silent Wedding, I don’t care if we go down in history as barbarians, Dogs, Child’s Pose, One Step Behind the Seraphim, 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, Morometii 2, After Hills or Aferim.
